Geekonix
Founded in 2005, Geekonix is the official Science and Technology club of Techno Main Salt Lake (TMSL), the flagship college of the Techno India Group at Sector V, Salt Lake, Kolkata. Built with the sole purpose of igniting curiosity and channelling technical talent, Geekonix has spent nearly two decades creating pathways for students to explore, experiment, and excel across disciplines. From robotics and coding to design, photography, entrepreneurship, and beyond.
Under the Geekonix umbrella, 12 specialised sub-clubs run year-round workshops, competitions, and community initiatives. Beyond EDGE, Geekonix conducts Geekathon, its flagship inter-college hackathon drawing participants from institutions across India including KIIT, VIT, GNIT, Adamas University, and NSEC, and serves as the official gateway for Techno Main Salt Lake to the Smart India Hackathon (SIH), with 850+ students competing in its internal selection rounds.
With an active community across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and X (Twitter), Geekonix has built a digital presence that amplifies every edition of EDGE far beyond the campus walls, reaching tens of thousands of students and tech enthusiasts nationwide every year.
The Legacy of EDGE
Since its genesis in 2007, EDGE, the annual techno-management festival of Techno Main Salt Lake, has grown from a campus celebration into a national phenomenon. Recognised as Kolkata's largest and Eastern India's 2nd largest techno-management fest, EDGE has consistently attracted 5,000+ participants from 140+ colleges across India, competing across 40+ events in a three-day, high-energy extravaganza.
Each edition is shaped by a unique theme that reflects the pulse of the times. EDGE Nights transform evenings into unforgettable spectacles featuring stand-up comedians, live musicians, and celebrity appearances. EDGE Talks connects participants with luminaries from tech, business, sports, and the arts. EDGE Deeds channels the fest's energy toward meaningful social impact. Together, these pillars make EDGE more than a competition. It is a movement.
Previous editions have drawn massive sponsors including Coal India, SBI, SAIL, ONGC, Hewlett Packard, Hero MotoCorp, Tata Motors, TCS, Nvidia, Red Bull, and KFC. Media partners The Telegraph, Times of India, and 91.9 Friends FM have amplified the reach of every edition nationwide.
